Multiple Destination Audio/Video Routing Switcher 8x16  AVRS 8x16
This broadcast quality audio follows video router with 128 crosspoints in two levels, combines the latest in video and audio circuit technology with a powerful control system. The AVRS 8x16 is a 8 source multiple output (up to 16) device, allowing two levels, such as composite video and mono audio to be controlled together in an audio-follow-video (AFV) manner. The unit is ideal for AFV application, where independent control over two levels is required. Status is controlled and displayed trough a backlight LCD display panel. Sufficient memory is available to store several different configurations (120). The device is easy to use due to a sophisticated microprocessor-based design that allows many powerful features such as source and destination lockouts and salvos, timing program procedure including periodic operation (daily, weekly and monthly in 1 minute scale) and 120 independent device configurations nonvolatile memory. Using the build-in RS232 control port the AVRS 8x16 can be controlled from a distant location by a PC, running a Windows95-based Graphical User Interface Application (included).

For broadcast “on-air” mode application or video editing purposes switching takes place during the vertical interval (according to the proposed SMPTE RP 165 Standard) by one of the input signals or by composite synchro-input. Composite synchro-output separated from the master video input signal is also available.
Video inputs are BNC 75 Ohm loaded connectors. The video outputs are 75 Ohm wideband amplified, BNC connector type fitted. Audio inputs are high impedance, balanced, to provide noise suppression on the incoming signals. Low impedance drivers provide undistorted balanced outputs. 25-pin subminiature “D” connectors are used for input and output connectors (optional adapters are available to convert the audio device terminals to a screw-type terminal).

Crosspoint Router 8x16

AVRS 8x16 is mounted in a compact 19” plastic finished double coated metal chassis in universal 1RU modular frame for rack mounting or for stand alone application. To view the front and back panels of the device click here.
